Former Clay County Commissioner Rob Bradley will run for the newly created state Senate seat that includes Clay, Alachua and Bradford counties.
"I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve our Northeast Florida communities by running for the Florida Senate," Bradley said in a news release. "We continue to face very tough and trying times, and I believe it is time for our state leaders to step up and promote free enterprise policies that will help create jobs for the hardworking people of our state."
\Clay now shares the 5th District with Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties and the 7th District with Putnam, Marion and Volusia counties.
The new 14th District will be in effect for this year's elections.
