Rob Bradley, Republican, Florida Senate Dist. 7

This is a very important election for our area. We continue to face economic uncertainty and challenges at every turn.

If elected, I will focus on promoting a vibrant and growing economy that creates real jobs, and I will fight to ensure that the University of Florida continues to be the flagship university in our state and one of the great universities in the world.

I will always stand up to protect my community and do what is right.

As a county commissioner, I led the fight for the largest property tax reduction in the history of Clay County. I also worked to pass the county's first ethics code, holding public officials accountable and limiting the influence of special interests on government. Shortly thereafter, I ran for, and won, the first-ever County Commission chairman position in 2008, with a record number of votes.

I am a former criminal prosecutor who is now the managing partner of the law firm of Kopelousos and Bradley, P.A. My record of public service includes serving as chairman of the board of management of the local YMCA, president of the Clay County Bar Association, and a member of the boards of directors for Northeast Florida Community Hospice and Jacksonville Area Legal Aid. For the past four years, I have served on the board of trustees of St. Johns River State College.

As a third generation UF alumnus, I understand the critical role that UF, Santa Fe College and Shands play as economic drivers for Alachua County and our region. I also firmly believe that our region's best days are ahead of us. When you combine the beauty of our rivers, springs and other natural resources with the talent produced by a world class university, our potential is limitless.

I am blessed to be married to a wonderful wife of 17 years, Jennifer, and together we have three children; Connor (16), Stephanie (14) and Caroline (12). We are members of the Orange Park United Methodist Church.

I understand the needs of the men, women and families who live and work in North Florida. In the past, my trusted direction worked at the local government level. If I am honored by your vote and support, I will continue to provide the same strong leadership as our next state senator.
